🦌 Moose Talks: So… Now What?

What now!!

Well.
You survived a bad accident.
You survived a heart attack.
The kids are grown.

Technically.

They’re adults now — which mostly means they’re taller, louder, and still living in your house asking what’s for dinner like rent is a myth.

And somehow… you’re still here.

Everyone loves to say things like “That must’ve changed your whole perspective.”
Yeah. It did.
For about five minutes.

Then the heart attack turns into “blah, that was inconvenient,”
the accident becomes “that sucked,”
and life casually asks, “Cool. So what’s next?”

No dramatic music.
No life-altering epiphany on a mountain top.
Just you, standing in the kitchen, realizing the dishwasher still needs emptying and nobody replaced the toilet roll.

Surviving big stuff doesn’t magically hand you a roadmap.
It just proves you’re stubborn enough to keep going.

And the kids?
Oh, the kids.

You raised them.
You fed them.
You kept them alive.
They grew up.

And now they hover.
Like helpful raccoons.
Eating your food.
Using your Wi-Fi.
Leaving cups everywhere.

You love them.
You really do.
But let’s not pretend this was the retirement plan.

Here’s the truth no one tells you after survival mode ends:

You don’t suddenly know what you’re doing.
You don’t feel “reborn.”
And you definitely don’t wake up grateful every day.

Sometimes you just wake up… still here.

And that’s actually the point.

Survival isn’t the finish line.
It’s the receipt.

You paid for the right to keep going — wiser, slower, less impressed by nonsense, and far less willing to die over a deadline or family group chat drama.

So if you’re asking “Now what?”
Congratulations.
That means you made it far enough to ask.

Take your time answering.
